Don trail – West side.

Starting from the Brickworks, cross Bayview at the lights and head straight towards the river. Eventually you will pick up a trail that heads downstream and will take you all the way to little rail bridge near the pedestrian bridge at Riverdale Farm.

Along the way you will pass the salt storage and roadworks facility and some informal camping. This is a remote hard to access side of the river due to the active GO rail line. Do not walk on the rails, there is no need to.

The river pushes a lot of garbage, old sleeping bags, clothes downstream with every big rain. On top of that the informal campers seem to leave a lot of junk wherever and then move on. I haven’t seen any person along the trail however evidence of beaver and deer is easy to find.
