Rob Ford said we need to stop the war on cars. If there is a war on cars and you look at the scorecard (cars ruined by pedestrians vs pedestrians killed by cars), the cars are winning; by a long shot.
Enter a Super Hero for pedestrians. I’m not sure what part I like the best, the lucedor mask, the Ramones shirt, the Cape or just the attitude of walking up to people and telling them to move out of the crosswalk.
The Super Hero may look goofy but the context is New York and their adoption of Vision Zero principles. Toronto lags somewhat but the conversation is happening. There are too many pedestrian deaths, many due to poor design of streets, car designs the protect the occupants but not anyone outside the car and wanton driver attitude.
